QUT offers an postgraduate programs that gives candidates a global perspective, and allows them to immerse themselves in the world market via:
Exchange Partners
BGSB reinforces the international focus of its courses with the opportunity for students to study overseas with one of our Exchange Partners. This allows students to gain valuable knowledge about both business and social aspects of their host country. Additionally, they become aware of cultural differences, and learn important cross-cultural communication skills. MBA students can take a visiting semester at leading schools in France, China, India, Sweden, Singapore and Netherlands, as well as UK, USA and Germany. Master of Business students can find more information on exchange programs and schools on the QUT Exchange and Study Abroad website.
International Competitions
We encourage students to work together and use their entrepreneurial skills and abilities to compete with universities around the world at international business competitions. These initiatives are designed to enhance the quality of entrepreneurship and management education, to increase the rate of success for new ventures and to extend national and international networks for young entrepreneurs and educators. Our student teams are supported by an MBA instructor and have represented the BGSB at a range of competitions over the past few years with a great deal of success. Examples of our business competition participation include:
- The John Heine Entrepreneurial Challenge, Australia’s premier new venture pitching competition for tertiary students. One team from each Australian university is eligible to enter. The overall winning team represents Australia at Global Moot Corp® Competition at the University of Texas at Austin. The BGSB is a university host partner and has hosted the competition since 1999. For further information visit www.johnheinechallenge.org
- Confluence is hosted by Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and comprises a series of competitive and non-competitive events such as case contests, games, simulations, quizzes, presentations, seminars and discussion panels spanning various areas of business and management.
- Cerebration is a global business challenge, organised annually by NUS Business School. It is essentially a hybrid of a business plan and business case competition and looks to combine the best elements of both.
- The Mai Bangkok Business Challenge at Sasin is
Thailand’s premier business plan competition conducted in
English. It was created in 2002 to encourage postgraduate
students in business administration programs across
Thailand and Asia to become more entrepreneurial.
