About the Program

FEW group picture function

FEW’s flagship is the Mentor Program. Over the past six years we have seen it emerge as a unique and highly successful service that we provide to our alumni members.

The FEW Mentor Program, administered by the FEW Committee, is designed to give alumni and postgraduate women students of the QUT Business School the opportunity to interact with professionals from the business community, with the purpose of guiding and encouraging participants in their chosen career path. Mentors offer mentees support, encouragement, and an industry perspective.

Benefits of Mentoring

Mentoring encourages participants to:

"One of the key measures of a successful program is moving the relationship from having a good rapport and information exchange to one that is supporting, developing and challenging the mentee, while the mentor may learn something new or develop in a way they had not anticipated. Another key to success is balancing structure and process offered for boht mentors and mentees, without having onerous constraints that may limit the flow of a good relationship." (from the 2009 Program materials, by Rupert Bryce, Performance Strategies.)
