Fostering Executive Women (FEW) is an interest group founded by BGSB Associate Professor Caroline Hatcher, for female students and graduates of QUT Graduate Business Programs. FEW was established in May 2003, in response to student requests for a career resource specifically for female students. FEW is managed by a seven member committee, coordinated by BGSB staff, and is supported by QUT Alumni.
FEW’s patron is internationally recognised entrepreneur, Order of Australia recipient, and Leading Woman Entrepreneur of the World award recipient, Ann Garms.

Mission
Our mission is to foster the business and entrepreneurial spirit of students and graduates of the Brisbane Graduate School of Business (BGSB). FEW will provide women the opportunity to network, to do business, and to develop personally and professionally, in a truly positive, supportive and understanding environment.
Services
FEW provides female students and graduates of QUT Graduate Business Programs opportunities to network, to do business, and to develop personally and professionally through quality events featuring speakers from the local business community, workshops relevant to women in business, an internationally recognised mentoring program and international awards.
Mentoring Program
The FEW Mentoring Program, administered by the QUT Career Mentor Scheme, an initiative of the QUT Alumni Board, is designed to give female students and graduates of QUT Graduate Business Program the opportunity to interact with professionals from the business community, with the purpose of guiding and encouraging participants in their chosen career path. Mentors offer mentees support, encouragement, an industry perspective and the ability to broaden their horizons.
Information about how to apply for the 2008 Mentoring Program will shortly be available on this site.
International Award Program
The 2007 FEW International Award Program was launched at the FEW "Christmas in July" at the Polo Club. One scholarship was awarded to study a business course at Harvard in 2008. Another scholarship is available for a work placement with a Leading Woman Entrepreneur of the World based in Spain. The awards are open to female graduates of QUT Graduate Business Programs.
