The MBA suite of programs will suit you if you have prior management experience or are seeking a qualification to give you a general management education. The innovative structure and content of QUT's MBA is unique in Australia, and gives students a distinct career advantage in the real world. See the BGSB postgraduate study options for full program details and see further information on entry requirements and how to apply.

International Recognition

QUT's MBA is the only Queensland MBA to have been ranked in the Financial Times Global Top 100 programs and is one of only three in Australia to have ever made the list. It is also ranked as a top-tier Australian MBA program by the Australian Financial Review's BOSS magazine.

Our MBA was the equal first in Australia to be accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and is the first and - so far - the only MBA in Australia to have the triple crown of accreditation, will be recognised for its high quality wherever your career takes you.

Innovative Course Structure

The BGSB suite of business administration programs offers 6 credit point units, delivered in 7 week modules (6 weeks teaching and one week of final assessment) or half-semester. This gives students the flexibility to commence study at the beginning or mid-point of any semester, offering six different entry points each year.

Learning Enrichment

We strive to educate current and future executives by helping you to become creative and strategic thinkers. We encourage you to take advantage of our extra-curricular activities such as peer interaction, group discussions and debates to enhance your communication skills and self confidence.

Responding to the needs of employers, we also place core emphasis on 'soft skills' such as leadership, communication and creative problem solving. The inclusion of these soft skills means a more-rounded MBA graduate who responds to the needs of employers.

An MBA for the Real World

The practical nature of our courses means that our part-time students can apply the concepts they are learning in the classroom directly to their workplace. Our full-time students re-enter the job market armed with the latest in global management techniques.

The use of guest lecturers brings real-world experience to lecture content and their 'war stories' provide entertaining examples of how it can be done.

Global Perspectives

Our students operate in the global marketplace, so we make sure that they are exposed to the International environment as much as possible during their studies. Most of our teaching staff have International origins, education, teaching, work experience and/or research experience.

We regularly have visiting International teaching staff and we also participate in global MBA competitions, including the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad's 'Confluence Competition' and the Global Moot Corp business plan competition.

Scholarship Opportunities

There are a number of merit scholarships for exceptional applicants into the MBA or MBA (Major) courses. The successful applicants will be expected to be actively involved in the BGSB community as leaders.

Brisbane Executive Club (BEC)

The Brisbane Executive Club (BEC) is an associated organisation made up of current and past BGSB students and is recognised chapter of QUT Alumni. Its main aim is to provide a link between BGSB students, alumni and the wider business community, by facilitating professional development opportunities and local and international social and business networking.

What our graduates say about our programs...

"While I was busy being an entrepreneur, I had a mixed bag of successes and failures on a number of fronts. This prompted me to seek professional learning, particularly in the areas of creative problem solving and entrepreneurship. QUT's MBA seemed the most natural and logical choice for my postgraduate studies, considering the program's focus in these areas. My incentive throughout the program was fill all the gaps in my knowledge bank, so I would be a better informed manager. QUT's MBA was one of the better decision of my life, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it."

Completing the MBA has helped Anup to use his passion for creative problem solving in his job as the Senior Consultant with the Apis Consulting Group.

"I chose QUT's MBA program for its flexibility and its six-week teaching periods, which meant more subjects and greater breadth of coverage. Completing the MBA has changed me both personally and professionally. The greatest value I gained from the MBA (aside from the knowledge and skills) was the relationships and associations I developed, forming an extensive network of friends and colleagues from all over the world."

Jane Harvey, a committee member of the Brisbane Executive Club - BGSB's Alumni association - has worked in public education for more than 10 years.
